Mark your calendars for the screening of King Hu wuxia classics 'The Wheel of Life' as part of the Singapore Chinese Film Festival.
The Wheel of Life is a 1983 film directed by King Hu, Hsing Lee and Jingrui Bai. The story is about the love of two men to the same woman crossing three generations. Feng's father is an upright official of Ming dynasty but was killed by the powerful eunuchs and royal guards. Feng is engaged in Mei, a daugther of another official. After the latter, Mei's father offers her to the head of the royal guards as his concubine in order to save his own life. On the way to be wed, she carried with her a dagger and intends to kill the evil one. Lu, captain of the royal guard who guarded Mei, forces Mei to hand in the dagger and tries to take advantage of her. At the same moment, Feng leads the resistance to rescue Mei. Their love triangle progresses and led to bloodshed.
