For Timothy's proposal for Director's Lab program, he hoped to research and assemble the ingredients for a theatrical piece that explores the theme of isolation in societies that exist within a compressed space and time.
Timothy Nga explores Singaporean city life to find out how living in a compact physical, mental, and time space shapes, and reveals us. He chose to interview taxi drivers as a starting point, due to their unique role as conduits in society, and the nature of their work which involves being surrounded by others in short, transitional encounters.
Join Tim as he showcases his journey. The interview process and rehearsal methods that he is used to assemble his presentation for the Directors' Lab Sharing Sessions.
The Directors' Lab is a research, development and mentorship programme for emerging local theatre practitioners keen on researching and developing new and/or specific directing methodologies in theatre and the performing arts in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
