Footwork - Bhangra

Discover the joy of movement and fall in love with dance through the festival’s Footwork workshops. Conducted by professional instructors, these basic workshops are designed for youth, adults and senior citizens with little or no experience in dance.

Bhangra is a lively form of folk music and dance that originates from Punjab, India. People traditionally performed Bhangra when celebrating the harvest, and eventually it became part of occasions such as weddings and New Year celebrations. During the last thirty years, Bhangra has enjoyed a surge in popularity worldwide, both in traditional form and as a fusion with genres such as hip-hop, house, and reggae.
