In this lecture, Fiona Hodgkins will share her research of Bahau, the little known WWII Catholic Settlement in the Malayan Jungle. In addition to relating the story of Bahau, how and why she conducted her research, and the difficulties she encountered when converting it into publication form, Hodgkins will explain why she felt it was important to make the story accessible not only to adults but also to children.
About the Speaker
Fiona Hodgkins is a History graduate whose professional life has revolved around history and education. She has lived in Singapore for 14 years, and can trace her ancestry in the region to Portuguese traders who settled in Malacca in the mid-18th century.
