Come to this exhibition as Art Seasons Gallery in collaboration with Srisasanti Gallery, presents Indonesian artist Gatot Indrajati's "The Puppet State", a solo exhibition.
Gatot views himself as a social antenna, and belives that dolls are metaphors for "Someone who becomes a toy for someone else". He views them with their rich and flexibility in meaning as an icon and at the same time a victim in the life of our society. He used woods to form dolls on canvas, and with his artistic but meticulous art, he was able to use these as metaphors to pack the social issues that are often trite and just narrative-journalistic in nature.
