The Necessary Stage (TNS) presents Gitanjali [I feel the earth move], a brand new interdisciplinary and intercultral production inspired by the poetry of Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore. Directed by Alvin Tan and written by Haresh Sharma, this groundbreaking production delves into the themes of freedom and loss through a myriad of narratives.

Starring Vasantham Star’s Ebi Shankara and Life! Theatre Awards nominees Sharda Harrison and Padma Sagaram, the production also features movement by French-Laotian choreographer-dancer Olé Khamchanla, Jereh Leong and Raka Maitra, a renowned Odissi classical/contemporary dancer. Interdisciplinary sound artist Bani Haykal and multimedia artist Brian Gothong Tan will provide visual and soundscapes to the play.
