Romantics and Nationalists celebrates the enormous intensity of expression of emotion of the Romantic movement, and the inspiration of national culture and ethnicity, through a collection of great masterpieces, performed by top-class international pianists of contrasting styles. Four richly-rewarding piano recitals of music that will enchant, entertain, mesmerise and move you.

Lauded by Sir Simon Rattle as 'one of the most extraordinary musicians of any age group that I have had the fortune to be associated with', German pianist Lars Vogt has enjoyed a varied career for nearly 25 years since winning the second prize at the 1990 Leeds International Piano Competition. His versatility as an artist ranges from the core classical repertoire of Mozart and Beethoven to the romantics Schumann, Brahms and Rachmaninov through to the dazzling Lutosławski concerto.  A prolific recording artist, Vogt also holds the distinction of being the first-ever 'Pianist in Residence' in 2003/4 of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, with which he continues to collaborate regularly.
