Come and see visual and audio exhibit of 'Going Places'. The exhibit will feature almost 50 recordings by 26 poets of their poems about places in Singapore, exploring the country's cityscape and history by documenting the changes that occured over the last 60 years.
The poems covers various locations, from the urban, natural and architectural typologies in Singapore. It will also include central Singapore, famous attractions, lost buildings and even the HDB heartlands. The exhibit aims to draw on original audio-visual portraits of Singapore, highlighting it's rich literary history and artistic diversity through this poetic approach.
Going Places is curated by Silke Schmicki, co-founder of Lowave - a platform for curatorial research principally around moving images based in Paris. The exhibit hopes to inspire Singaporeans to remember the city as they know it and to create new memories of the Singapore we experience today.
