'Godfather of the kung-fu film' Chang Cheh had revolutionised martial arts cinema and made a star of Jimmy Wang Yu in a succession of films starting from the late 1950s. A decade later, Wang was on the verge of making his mark as a producer and director, leading to Chang Cheh’s decision to headline Lo Lieh as the leading hero his brand of wu xia films, three years before Lo would become Shaw Brothers' first international star in King Boxer. In The Invincible Fist, he plays a dedicated chief constable for Tsang Chou village, who falls in love with the blind daughter of a bandit who is wreaking havoc. Joining him in all the action and emotion are such exceptional stars as award-winning actor Ku Feng, future superstar John Chiang, and powerful real-life martial artist Chen Hsing.
