Join Senior Curator Theresa McCullough for a guided tour about the treasures from Asia’s oldest museum, the Indian Museum in Kolkata. Marvel at striking sculptures from the ancient cultures of Pala and Gandhara that have inspired awe and adoration across the centuries, and learn about the evolution of Buddhist art through stories and symbols.

Theresa has been a specialist in South Asian art for over twenty years, and was previously a director at Sotheby’s, New York. She contributed to the catalogue for Enlightened Ways - The Many Streams of Buddhist Art in Thailand and curated Exploring the Cosmos - The Stupa as a Buddhist Symbol. She just curated the exhibition, Treasures from Asia’s Oldest Museum - Buddhist Art from the Indian Museum, Kolkata including production of an exhibition catalogue. Her interest lies in the transmission of art and thoughts from India into other regions in Asia.
