For some, 2011 has been a pretty rough year that they can’t wait to bid adieu to. For others, it might have been a happy year or the start of building a new family with marriages and the much talked about date – 11/11/11.
For us at inSing, whether or not it’s been a rough year, a blissful year, or ‘just another year’, we just want throw your ties, business case, books, pen and whatever that’s been tying us down this 2011, and party the last day of this year away!
There are so many reasons to party this New Year to usher in 2012 and hopefully, it will be a better year!
You might say “Singapore so small, everywhere also go before” but when it comes to events and parties, same places doesn’t matter. We are spoilt for choice when it comes to events and celebrations, so let us give you 10 reasons (in no particular order) why you shouldn’t be home on New Year’s Eve.
A great way to toss your hair back and party ‘till dawn with local and international DJ’s booming beats by the beach and another four party areas like the Azzura Beach Club, Café Del Mar, Coastes and the Wave House. The Siloso Beach Party is Asia’s biggest NYE countdown party and one of our favourite brews, Carlsberg is the Official Beer. Party at five different areas depending on how you’re feeling – yes you read correctly, all five areas for just one ticket. Not to mention, a gigantic foam pool and aquatic playthings like the Wet Dance Zone, Water Drums and more! Do the math, one party ticket for five party areas and more, it’s too good to resist going!
Can’t get enough of the beach but fear for the ‘curse’ of 2012 (you know, the end of the world theory?) Then head on down to Tanjong Beach Club! All geared for the 2012, the cool cats at Lo & Behold tosses not one but two days of mad partying! NYE will see acts such as Poolside Music (USA), Darren Dubwize & Kiat (Syndicate), MC Masterpiece & Dave Code (Pushin’ On), The Electric Ambassadors and Mr. Has; while New Year’s Day (yes the party continues) sees DJ KFC and Aidan Bamrah on percussions; Donn, Debbie Chia, Pixiedub, Cherry Chan and Suki Quasimodo. There are also Tarot readers to tide you through the 2012 with your futures read through their cards. If you had a disastrous reading, then write your wishes to have a smooth sailing year despite what the Tarot evaluates! Floating lanterns will be there for you to write your wishes. And surely no party is complete without light sticks and lasers.
Always wanted to spend the night with Martin Solveig? Renowned DJ, or some of you may recognize him as worldwide producer and performer, will electrify you on New Year’s Eve. Spend the night with him as he brings you into 2012 with his electronic beats! Ladies and gentlemen are both welcomed; genders are not discriminated at a cute French DJ’s gig.
If you must get the best view of the fireworks without having to squeeze with other sweaty people in an open field, (Although we can’t guarantee that there won’t be a thousand other sweaty people at Loof, we mean it makes perfect sense to head to a rooftop bar for the ‘best view’) then head on down to Loof rooftop bar and groove to the tunes of DJ Uncle Johnny and RTYPE whilst waiting for the breathtaking fireworks!
So clubs might not be a legal place for parents to let their kids experience their first countdown. Well we have a solution! Start your Saturday night with a bang with Singapore’s very own Sheikh Haikel and hunk Nat Ho. As if that’s not impressive enough, international acts like Siti Nurhaliza and Catch These Kids Wear Crowns will be performing too! With hosts like Michelle Chia and Gurmit Singh, there will not be a dull moment at your New Year’s celebration!
Need a good place to relax and enjoy? Or do are you craving for a dose of local acts? Then go on down to Marina Promontory at Marina bay and catch local acts like Deon Toh, The Pinholes, Cheryl Wee, Natalie Hiong, Sleeq, Black Forest and Wei En perform while waiting for the spectacular fireworks at midnight!
Feeling nostalgic? Is time passing too fast for you? Well then take a slow walk down memory lane as Syltra Lee, Singapore Idol Alumni, serenades you with tunes from the 60s to the present. There will also be a film screening of “The Journey” which showcases a heartwarming documentary of Don Richmond who goes around Singapore to collect wishes made by fellow Singaporeans. With a precious day like that last day of a year, spend it memorably by taking a walk down memory lane and looking at how you’ve grown into what you are today.
For those whose idea is to spend New Year’s Eve with a special someone, under the stars, watching the fireworks and just cuddling the entire night away, this party is for you. Snuggle up to your partner as you witness the spectacular array of fireworks in the sky over the Merlion and the Singapore Flyer! Order yourselves some milk shakes and finger food and just enjoy your meal until midnight comes.
Awe yourself with the amazing view of the spectacular fireworks to commemorate the coming of the New Year at KU DÉ TA! Immerse yourself in the breath-taking view and sounds. Relax and treat yourself to some champagne and celebrate the New Year!
Usher in the New Year in luxury. With epicurean treats and entertainment at the Capella Singapore located on Sentosa Island, indulge in the singing of Grammy Award winner R&B and soul singer, Macy Gray along with other stellar performers. Sure it costs more than your average New Year’s celebration, but 31/12/2011 and 1/1/2012 only comes once a lifetime! Who knows? It could be the best celebration of your life thus far.
If your New Year’s resolution is to be good boys and girls… You can always start on January 2! So go put on your party shoes and pump your fists to rocking beats this New Year’s Eve to start year 2012 with a hangover or fatigue.
Just kidding, party hard, but party smart! Start your 2012 on the right foot and hope that it’ll be a better year.
