25 Apr – The European Union Film Festival (EUFF) is returning for its 26th edition this year, set to take place in the month of May.
A total of 30 movies from 30 countries from across Europe, the largest number of movies to be screened at the festival so far, will be shown during the festival's two-week duration.
As part of its long standing tradition of collaborating with a local film school, this year's festival will feature 10 student films from Ngee Ann Polytechnic's School of Film and Media Studies (FMS) alongside the official movie selection.
One of the movies in this year's official line-up is "Hotel" (Sweden), starring Academy Award-winning actress, Alicia Vikander. The screening of the movie will be preceded by Kristen Ong's short film, "Every Single Night".
Other movies in the official selection include comedy "Love Building" (Romania), rom-com "Coming Out" (Hungary), drama "Flowers" (Spain), animated fantasy film "Song of the Sea" (Ireland), and documentary "Tomorrow" (France), which is also featured at Voilah! French Festival.
The Netherlands' "Admiral" is set to be the opening movie, though the screening is by invitation only on 10 May. It is to be preceded by Muhd Noor Sulaiman's short film, "Barzakh".
Tickets for EUFF will be available for purchase from Thursday, 28 April.
The 26th European Union Film Festival will be held at Golden Village Suntec City from 10 to 22 May 2016.
