Stretch their imagination further with ACT 3’s ‘Fractured Fairytales’ drama workshop. Imagine Hansel and Gretel running into The Three Bears, only to see a red-hooded girl sitting in the living room of the candy house. The workshop lasts six days, and children will get to take part in presenting familiar classics with amusing twists. For ages three to seven.

Taking “a disciplined approach to creativity”, the centre design activities to boost young learners’ confidence and make them better listeners beyond just teaching them new art techniques. With three branches located around the island and permanent programmes specially catered to different age groups, it should not be difficult to find a programme for your child. WowART Learning Movie Adventure Camp

Do your children hog the iPad during car rides so they can watch ‘Brave’ for the ninth time, or bug you endlessly to buy tickets to the newest cartoon movie? Get them to experience movies with a difference – with WowART’s movie adventure camp. The studio at Upper Thomson Road will be converted into a temporary cinema for your young ones to enjoy ‘The Croods’ and ‘Madagascar’. They will be encouraged to produce artwork after the movie, actively using their imagination to create masterpieces they’ll remember more vividly than scenes from a tablet. Children’s Infocomm Workshop

If your child simply will not take a break away from the computer screens or other gadgets, then go whole hog and take them to the Infocomm Experience Centre (iExperience) at Bras Basah. Specially designed for children aged four to 12, the infocomm workshop by government agency Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) aims to give hands-on experience with various media tools such as interactive boards, video-conferencing and 3D videos. The two-hour workshop is free and will introduce your child to next-generation infocomm technologies through play.
