Strap on your seat belts and hold on to your seats folks, the team behind this year’s Singapore GP have really outdone themselves this time, and yes you better “beliebe” it. Ladies and gentlemen, Justin Bieber is coming.
Year after year we’ve seen a consistently stellar list of headlining artists such as Katy Perry, Adam Lambert, Maroon 5, and Linkin Park. And now with the addition of the 19-year-old boy wonder, this is truly the icing on the cake for all pop music lovers.
And now you can experience the Biebs in the flesh as he brings the F1 festivities to a grand close on 23 September at the Padang Stage in the first ever Singapore Grand Prix’s The Closing Concert. In case you missed him here back in 2011, and nearby in Malaysia in 2012, here is your chance to get soaked in all his adolescent glory.
‘All Around The World’ – Justin Bieber
This announcement has sent jaws dropping given that the lineup already includes major players (and headliners in their own right) The Killers and Rihanna. Biebs also joins the list of highly respected old-schoolers Tom Jones and Bob Geldof, and also UK’s soulful songstress Laura Mvula. We’re also not forgetting those promising acts honed in our very own backyard; The Great Spy Experiment, The Sam Willows, and Weish. And in case you feel like giving your ears a breather, there’s always the visual treats of cabaret act Ennio Marchetto and daredevil illusionist Dynamo.
With over six billion views on his Youtube channel and VEVO, Justin Bieber is the youngest artist to release five #1 albums under his name. He has also received countless awards including “Artist of the Year” at the American Music Awards and best “International Breakthrough Act” at the Brit Awards.
Rocketing to stardom with the hits which placed him on the map such as ‘One Time’, ‘Never Say Never’, ‘Somebody to Love’, and of course the adorably addictive ‘Baby’ (and also his floppy hair), Bieber has continually evolved in both music and maturity through the years, most recently releasing the double-platinum ‘Believe’ just last year, which has too spawned chart-toppers like ‘Beauty and the Beat’ and ‘As Long as You Love Me’.
The Closing Concert is ticketed separately ($148) and fans with race weekend passes can purchase the tickets at a special discounted price of $98 until 31 August. Ticket sales for The Closing Concert start from 6 June.
