J-pop enthusiasts, it’s time to scream with glee! Japan’s top idol girl group sensation AKB48 will be developing a multi-sensory J-pop experiential project in Singapore. A special theatre is being built to house both AKB48 and their sister group’s first overseas theatre where concerts will be performed regularly.
The world’s very first AKB48 Café, together with SE Asia’s first AKB48 Official Shop, is set to open in Singapore at *SCAPE this month! Starting May 15, Singaporean and international fans will be treated to the real ‘Akihabara Experience’ comprising of AKB48 and their sister groups SKE48, NMB48 and SDN48 on rotation. The artistes are expected to be in Singapore for two days a month, with two performances lined up each day in 2011.
For eager fans that can’t wait to get their hands on tickets – don’t fret! The first “live concert of the series is held on May 15 at 3pm and 7pm respectively. The line-up of the AKB48 members performing will be released shortly on the official website (http://www.akb48.com.sg) before each show, with the tickets priced at $50 and retailed via the official website and the AKB48 official shop.
Besides getting to see the girls up close and personal, you’ll be able to buy all sorts of AKB48 official merchandise at the first AKB48 Concept Store in Southeast Asia! Lastly, the world’s very first AKB48 café will also open in Singapore for fans and J-pop newbies alike to soak in the AKB48 while chilling out with their friends.
