Earth Hour 2014 will be get a dose of Hollywood magic next month as the cast of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ will be here in Singapore to support the event.
Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx will help to switch off the lights across the Marina Bay skyline at 8:30pm on 29 March at The Float@Marina Bay.
The news follows the recent announcement that Spider-Man is the first superhero ambassador for Earth Hour, the global movement organised by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature).

The stars will also be throwing their support behind Earth Hour’s newly launched crowdfunding and crowdsourcing platform, Earth Hour Blue.
Andy Riley, Earth Hour’s chief executive and co-founder, said in a media statement: “We’re so excited that our first superhero ambassador for Earth Hour will join us for the global celebration of our planet in Singapore.
“Since moving to Singapore, one of the world’s greatest hub cities, Earth Hour has positioned itself in the region with a rapidly growing digital presence that has helped power our movement."
Garfield, who stars as the title character on film, said: “I’m proud Spider-Man is the first superhero ambassador for Earth Hour because he shows we can all be superheroes when we realise the power we all have. Earth Hour is a movement that has created massive impact around the world.”
Garfield is also supporting the Earth Hour Blue’s 'A Flame Called Hope', a project which aims to provide clean bio-gas energy for communities in Nepal.
Emma Stone, who plays Spider-Man's love interest Gwen Stacy, is rooting for ‘Puppy Protectors', a project that will train sniffer dogs and handlers to track and chase poachers in Nepal.
She said: “Earth Hour gives you the power to inspire anyone, even if you’re just one person. There are great projects from the crowd, for the planet, happening all over the world.”
The global event has grown to involve hundreds of millions of people from all walks of life across 7,000 cities and towns, and 154 countries and territories.
