The weekend beckons again and this time the siren’s call is loud and alluring. A slew of amazing musical treats are in store this weekend featuring legendary artistes, superstar DJs and your favourite act next door. So put on those dancing shoes and get ready to party!







CAN'T MISS

It’s hard not to praise one of the pioneers in techno and electronic music, and that is Richard James or Aphex Twinto the most of you. Known for his cutting-edge beats that borders on the surreal and sublime, James is making his much-anticipated debut gig at The Esplanade on Mar 19 (Sat). Get ready for a mind-blowing experience replete with amazing visuals.

Renowned hit-maker, ‘The Mozart of Madras’, multi-award-winner, AR Rahman drops by MBS’ Grand Theatre for four nights (Mar 17-20, Thur-Sun) of song and dance showcasing tunes from his hit movies. Check out our preview guide for a peek!

Parisian cool takes centre stage at the Esplanade this March 20 (Sun) with theGotan Project. If you’re into the sexy old world sounds of tango fused with funky rhythms of hip-hop and electronica, this is one concert not to be missed.

Home-grown beat merchants DJ Shellsuit and MC Masterpiece, or collectively known as Pushin’ Onwill ramp up the soul factor at Blu Jaz Café on Mar 18 (Fri). Look forward to the usual funk-soul-disco-house mash ups from the duo.

Over at Zouk, newly formed DJ duo the Trouse Brothers launches their new Dirty Beatsflagship night. If trance music that’s blended with a dash of electro and house gets your head nodding, head down to the club this Mar 18 (Fri).

Cool jazz cat Scott Henderson will work his magic fingers on the blues guitar in the company of drummer Alan Hertz, bassist Travis Carlton, keyboardist Indra Lesmana and pianist Boy Katindig at the Rock Auditorium this Mar 19.
