The school holidays are soon upon us yet again, and what better way than to spend it at our tropical islet of Sentosa!
This September, gear up for the return of the Sentosa Buskers Festival where you’ll be amazed and entertained by over 200 live shows by a cast of international street buskers!
Boasting a team that includes acrobats, juggles mime, puppeteers, comedians and human statues, the entertainers strive to amuse and tickle your funny bone. Promising nothing but plenty of fun and laughter for the entire family, this is definitely one week-long festival you don’t want to miss!
Highlights include master puppeteer Jonathan Acorn from New Zealand, the Japanese Jugglers duo Senmaru and Yuki, awe-inspiring acrobatics and stunts by the Danish Acromanue, and a death-defying Magical Escape brought to you by Jeff Collins of Canada.
Remember, as with all live outdoor performances, certain courtesies have to be observed. Participate as much as you can for an optimal experience, show your appreciation by laughing and clapping, and lastly, donate as generously as you can to the buskers’ hats – it’s for charity! That's right - all proceeds will go towards Community Chest and the 70 charities under its care.
If there is one day you'd have to choose to make it down to Sentosa, make it Sept 10, Sat where Sentosa will be having its Sentosa Day, as part of the first-ever large-scale charity initiative, Sentosa Gives! Members of the public enjoy free entry via the Sentosa Boardwalk and Sentosa Express from 7am to 11.59pm (Free island admission is not applicable to drive-ins by passenger cars, taxis and other vehicles).
The Sentosa Buskers Festival is on from Sept 3-11, at Sentosa Island. Island admission charges apply but the festival is free entry (except on Sept 10).
