They might be halfway around the world but that doesn’t mean that you cannot join in the festivities of the most highly anticipated union of the year—the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
There are several places around Singapore where you can catch the wedding live with other like-minded folks.
The good news: The wedding is scheduled to take place at 11am in London, which is 6pm in Singapore – just in time for us to rush to the nearest telly and live our own royal wedding dreams.
Where else but at The British Club can you soak up the whole wedding shebang! The British Club is throwing a host of activities to celebrate the occasion. The Royal Revelry Live telecast comprises a buffet dinner as well as activities for the kids at The Verandah Café (Apr 29; $68 for members, $78 for non-members, $35 for child non-members, $30 for child members). Everyone will receive a souvenir to remember this special occasion. Log on to www.britishclub.org.sg for more info.
Down Under watering hole Boomarang is tossing a royal fete as well. Take advantage of its promotions on classic champagne cocktails all night and happy-hour specials from 5-8pm while you catch the Prince William and Kate’s nuptials live on the telly (telecast at 3pm, ceremony from 6pm).
The next best thing if you’re not on the RSVP list—The Singapore Cricket Club’s Stumps Bar (Connaught Drive, 6222-3552) is hosting a screening party tonight (Apr 29). Celebrate this wonderful occasion with the British Chamber of Commerce, and join in the festivities including drinks, canapés, door gifts and raffles. 5pm-9pm. $70 for members, $100 for non-members.
