From August 26 to 31, The Arts House indulges in a cultural exchange with a brand new annual arts festival between Singapore and Malaysia.
Grab this chance to catch Malaysia’s quirkiest and most talented artists during the Causeway Exchange, which includes a programme of stand-up comedy, theatre, film screenings, visual and digital art experiences, photography workshops and so much more. Continuing on from this festival, 2011 will see Singaporean artists heading up to Malaysia to showcase their works to Malaysian audiences.
For now though, here are the highlights you won’t want to miss.
Indicinelive!and Mukabuku, produced by Dato’ Faridah from the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre. As a highly respected director, producer and mentor, Dato’ Faridah has been at the forefront of the Malaysian arts scene.
Another not-to-be-missed highlight is In her Own Words, A Celebration of Humanity and Universal Love from the late Yasmin Ahmad. The exhibition blends visuals and Yasmin’s blog posts to create a work of art as progressive as her vision was.
