'Deadpool' sequel is a go

It seems that Ryan Reynolds' dreams are coming true: he will get a chance to be the Merc With The Mouth again.

Movie studio 20th Century is so confident that the new 'Deadpool' is going to break the box office -- the movie isn't even released yet -- that it has green-lighted a sequel, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

According to the trade magazine, Fox wants the current creative team -- writers Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick, and director Tim Miller -- for the follow-up.

The move comes as no surprise as 'Deadpool' is expected to net the studio at least US$65 million (S$90.5 million) over its opening weekend in North America with some estimates pointing north of $70 million. This excludes box office takings overseas. The movie will miss out on the massive China market since it is banned there.

REYNOLDS' COMMITMENT TO THE CHARACTER

His name might not be Wade Wilson but Ryan Reynolds has fully immersed himself in the Deadpool role with aplomb.

Reynolds' enthusiasm for the character is very evident in the off-kilter viral video marketing... and that nude scene.
