You probably know Esplanade best as the home of the arts in Singapore, where world-class performances, memorable productions and dynamic festivals take place all year round. What you may not know, is that under the same spiky roof is a whole dining and retail destination in its own right.

From 12 May until 1 August 2014, Esplanade Mall offers – three lunchtime meals for the price of two – across 12 of its dining outlets, with delectable options ranging from local delights to Thai, Japanese and even Italian cuisines. 

What’s more, you even get free parking at Esplanade when you show your 3-for-the-price-of-2 receipts at the Esplanade Concert Hall Information Counter (10am–9pm), whilst the first 20 every weekday gets $5 retail vouchers! So get together with your two best buddies and make your way down to Esplanade Mall to eat your fill. 

Australian-inspired bar and restaurant Barossa (#01-11) offers a one-course menu at $10 (which includes their smoked duck linguine, guacamole chicken burger and beer-battered fish and chips), two-course meals (soup or salad, plus the main) at $14, and three-course meals (soup or salad, main, dessert) at $18. For another multi-course indulgence, Supply & Demand Modern Bistro & Rooftop Bar (#01-13) dishes out two-course meals at $16.90 (closed for lunch on Fridays).

Chocz. (#02-13/15) gets in on the action with its sandwiches (from $13.90) –choose from egg mayo, tuna, Swiss cheese & tomato, and ham & cheese. Crumbs by Two Blur Guys (#03-02), an offshoot of the popular burger joint, offers – what else? – burgers! Options include their pulled chicken, smoked salmon and duck rillete burgers (from $8.90).

Adding a dose of local flavour, Grand Pavilion Cafe (#02-25) serves up the offer with any main course on their a la carte menu (from $11.90), which includes jumbo prawn noodle soup, Penang assam laksa and fried carrot cake with XO sauce and many more (Closed for renovations from 12 – 31 May. Enjoy their 3-for-2 lunch offers from 2 June onwards!). Staying local, Simply Peranakan Cuisine (#02-12) features a selection of four set meals – chicken drumlet rice, pork rice, beef rice and fish rice – from $14.90. 

Ninethirty by Awfully Chocolate

Taking the fusion route – think laksa tagliatelle and miso aglio olio – Ninethirty by Awfully Chocolate (#02-14) has pasta and drink combos for just $15.

Tomo Izakaya

ThaiExpress (#01-13D) adds some spice to the mix with the offer available for any main course (from $10.30), while casual Japanese eatery Tomo Izakaya (#01-09) embraces the deal with its three-course menu ($15 nett) which includes mains like salmon wasabi mayo rice, tempura udon or kimchi ramen and more.

Dessert lovers will be well taken care of too, with Häagen-Dazs (#02-01/03) offering one scoop of ice-cream free for every two purchased ($5.90 each) and chocolatier Max Brenner Chocolate Bar (#01-06/08), which will be extending the deal for all desserts on their menu above $16. Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee specialists Blue Mahoe Estate Caffe (#02-04) will hand out one cup of immaculately hand-brewed Blue Mountain coffee for every two purchased (from $14 each), and one free sticky date pudding with the purchase of any two desserts (from $12.90 each).
