First Look: Captain America 'Civil War' trailer lands

Marvel film, 'Captain America: Civil War', debuted this week on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

The latest installment of the Marvel series pits hero against hero.

Based on the Marvel Comics crossover event from 2006 and 2007, the film sees Captain America and Iron Man on opposite sides of the law when world governments try to regulate superheroes.

Cap rebels against the new regulations, while Iron Man becomes their champion, leading to a fracturing of Marvel universe as other superheroes pick sides.

This means packing in nearly the entire lineup of heroes from previous Marvel movies (minus Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk).

It also introduces Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, and Tom Holland as Spider-Man, before either get their own movies.

The film is directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo with the screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The brothers also directed 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.

The movie opens in Singapore 5 May 2016
