Task Force X, better known as the Suicide Squad, appear in costume for the first time in a full-cast photo.
Director David Ayer, known for films such as 'Fury', 'Sabotage' and 'End of Watch', followed up last week's tweet of Jared Leto's tattooed Joker with the first shot of the full Suicide Squad in costume:
From left to right, the characters pictured are Slipknot (Adam Beach), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), and El Diablo (Jay Hernandez).
Ayer also tweeted out a solo shot of Smith as Deadshot, this time complete with the assassin's signature mask and eyepiece.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, there are rumours that the film may also feature cameos from Ben Affleck's Batman and Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, who will appear in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'.
With both movies released next year, it looks like DC's interconnected cinematic universe will soon be in full swing. There are currently eight movies in the pipeline between now and 2019, including 'Wonder Woman' (2017), 'Justice League Part 1 (2017) and 'Aquaman' (2018).
'Suicide Squad' is an off-the-books government strike force made up entirely of super-villains serving time in Belle Reve Prison. In exchange for time spent on Task Force X, they can reduce their sentences. The only problem is that the missions they’re sent on are about as deadly and dangerous as they can get, and team safety really isn’t much of a concern, hence the team's nickname.
The movie also stars Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, the team's government handler.
The newly unveiled team of supervillains will hit movie screens on 5 August 2016
