Fresh Meat: New ‘Evil Dead’ and ‘Hansel & Gretel’ trailers

If you’re squeamish about blood and gore, we suggest you click on something else; but if you’re a horror fan… well, there’s a new trailer out for ‘Evil Dead’, Uruguayan director debut feature Fede Alvarez’s remake of the 1981 cult horror classic by Sam Raimi.

This new ‘Evil Dead’ (out in cinemas 9 May 2013) is possibly the most terrifying thing we’ve online so far (other than the Gangnam Style parodies).

Unlike the original, Alvarez’s remake veers away from the schlocky and goofball tone and dives deep into bone-chilling horror and yet still staying true to the premise.

Check out the grotesque trailer for yourself and let us know what you think in the comments below.

Also out on the interwebs is the new ‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’ (opens 24 January 2013) trailer. Although it’s not as intense as the ‘Evil Dead’ trailer, there’s still plenty of witch-killing and dismemberment here.

Don’t be expecting a ‘happily ever after’-type of fairytale movie like ‘Mirror Mirror’, ‘Red Riding Hood’ or even ‘Snow White & The Huntman’, ‘Hansel & Gretel’. Fronted by new Bourne Jeremy Renner and former GQ woman of the year Gemma Arterton, the movie gives a twisted twist to fairy-tale movie adaptations. Take a look at the new trailer below.
