After months of teasing, the full trailer of Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” finally arrives online. As expected, the movie is a kind of prequel to the “Alien” movie franchise as we get to see what happens before Warant Officer Ellen Ripley, and her crew Dallas, Kane, and Lambert landed on planet LV-426 to investigate a derelict alien ship.
“Prometheus” stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron.
Scott and the cast have been pretty tight-lipped about the plot, noting nothing beyond the nitty-gritties: a group of explorers find mysterious pictograms that send them off to discover the origins of mankind.
The trailer has got quite a few things worth looking out for such as the iconic biomechanical architecture that was present in the first “Alien” movie and there’s a point somewhere in the middle of the clip where the team find themselves inside a room full of mysterious pod (Alien ‘eggs’ anyone?)
Although we don’t really get to see any Xenomorphs in the trailer, there are some scenes in the trailer that looks very Alien-ish (a proto-facehugger/ Xenomorph goo).
It also seems that the “Prometheus” marketing machinery has been very busy as of late with the release of several viral campaigns; one focusing on Fassbender’s character
And another one, featuring Guy Pierce as Peter Weyland giving a speech at a TEDx talk in 2023!
