Fashion Week returns to The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands from 9 to 19 October, with appearances by K-pop superstar G-Dragon from the group Big Bang, alongside a host of models, celebrities and TV personalities over the 11-day event.
A fashion icon himself, known for his androgynous style and edgy outfit choices, G-Dragon will also be performing in a private showcase on 12 October, at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre Hall F, at 4.30pm.
Tickets to the showcase are priced at $120 for standard tickets and $1,000 for VIP tickets which are limited to only 20 tickets and include a meet-and-greet with G-Dragon. Tickets went on sale on 9 October.
Among the personalities attending are Hungarian Victoria’s Secret model Barbara Palvin, who will also be walking the runway at selected shows. The 20-year-old model is a magazine cover girl, having featured on Vogue Russia and L’Officiel and has also featured in campaigns for Pull & Bear and H&M.
24-year-old US marine-turned underwear model, Alex Minsky, will also be walking at some of the men’s shows. The amputee, who lost his right leg in Afghanistan after his truck ran over an explosive, has since become a successful underwear model.
Among the attendees are Victoria's Secret model Barbara Palvin, Korean superstar Rain and model Alex Minsky.
Other attendees include South Korean actor and vocalist Sung Hoon and Shin Woo, Los Angeles fashion stylist Jeannie Mai and regional Thai-American hosts UTT and Taya Rogers. South Korean singer and actor Rain is also making an appearance for the first time since his two-year military hiatus.
Organised by FIDé Fashion Weeks, Fashion Week 2013 features the best in women’s and men’s prêt-à-porter, women’s couture and haute couture labels. Among the international designers showing are Pierre Balmain, Anne Fontaine and Michael Cinco. Singapore brands will also be represented with menswear label Surrender and Love Bonito’s collaboration with Parisian couturier Julien Fournié showing.
