Gear up for some high-speed humour with Chris Tucker

Stepping away from films once again, motor-mouth comedian Chris Tucker will be performing his riotous stand-up routine here on June 25.

Not to be mistaken for Chris Rock, Tucker is most recognized for his stint as Jackie Chan’s high-pitched, comical sidekick in the ‘Rush Hour’ trilogy. Recently, he also made a delightful return to the big screen in ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ after a six-year hiatus.

During the time away from the Hollywood spotlight, he’s kept busy touring the US to perfect his stand-up routine, something he’s taken great pride in since his days on the HBO series ‘Def Comedy Jam’.

In an interview with pop culture website AV Club, Tucker says his scope of comedy has expanded over time. “I talk about my life a lot, being the youngest of six kids, and then being a father… I’ve travelled all over the place, all over the world, and met so many great people, so it’s really, broad.”

Now at the peak of his form, he’s finally ready to bring his show to international audiences. Expect a non-stop slew of puns and laughter.

Chris Tucker: The Return | Date: 25 June | Time: 8pm | Venue: Kallang Theatre | Address: 1 Stadium Walk | Tickets $98, $128, $148, $168 from sistic.com.sg
