Get Twisted: Halloween 2011 Guide

The most frightening time of the year is almost upon us, and you don’t have plans? No need to freak out—there are plenty of events and parties to keep you spooked.

Because Zombies Need Beer Too

It wouldn’t be Halloween without at least one zombie-themed party. The good folks at Beer Market toss out this scary do for its second Halloween party (Oct 29). If you’re not dressed for the occasion, fret not. You can get free Halloween makeup when you visit the outlet from 7-10pm and the super scary Graveyard cocktail will go for $14 a pop the whole night, if you need something to gather your wits for the night’s proceedings.

Ku De Ta: Black Moon Halloween

High above the streets of Marina Bay, something ghoulish is happening at Ku De Ta come October 29. Revel in the hedonistic pleasures of the night this hallows eve. Dance, drink and party the night away under the glimmer of the waxing moon. A pair of Guess Collection Black-Out Watches for the couple in the most amazing costume.

Hallowedding

In true mad Butter Factory fashion, this will be a monstrous celebration of eccentricity and glamor for the maddest fashionistas. Get ready for THE wedding of the year as the club hosts Hallowedding (no prizes for guessing  what kind of costumes we’ll see here). The playlist will run the entire romance gamut, from the initial spark (‘Love At First Sight’) to head-over-heels infatuation (‘My Endless Love’) to the difficult later years (‘No More I Love Yous’) – and the inevitable bloody conclusion (‘Janie’s Got A Gun’). Marriage isn’t all smiles and double rainbows. It can be gory too.

Sentosa Spooktacular

Promoted as Singapore's largest Asian-themed Halloween event, Sentosa Spooktacular will be held at various venues all over the island, opens its doors at night over two weekends, taking visitors on a ghastly journey through local and regional folklore and myths on six spine-chilling haunted trails. Read more about it here.

Halloween Horror Nights

Horror has found a new home and its Universal Studios Singapore. Happening from 20 to 22 October and 27 to 30 October 2011, from 8 pm to midnight, you will be scared out of your pants in the specially themed six scare zones within the theme park. Welcoming you to the party is the Director, a sadistic filmmaker who thrives on macabre movie-making and filming tortured subjects. He will greet guests as they enter through the looming gates. Once inside, you will be cast for their final cut. There's even a special 'scare menu' for the occasion.

Horrorplex

St James Power Station gets its freak on this October 29 as all its outlets turn into a massive house of horrors. Think zombies of Resident Evil at Powerhouse, horr-medic spirits of Where Got Ghost in Super Dragonfly, vampires of Dusk to Dawn at The Boiler Room, freaks of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Movida, and the death eaters of Harry Potter at Bellini Room, all rocking to the party beat. If you’re headed to Shanghai Dolly, our advice is to leave any Grudges at the door and don’t be spooked if you see a Ring because we’re drawing inspiration from the best of horror flicks from the Land of the Rising Sun. Firefly joins the haunting with tales from a Chinese Ghost Story. Dress to impress and stand a chance to win tickets to Seoul, Korea or Bangkok.

Home Club: Us Against The Sound

This Halloween get-together at Home Club sees the ghouls, audiophiles and other nasties boogeying to the freakishly good music. DJs and acts I Am David Sparkle, Ginette Chittick, Jerls, Nez and Loopinmotion will provide the bone-rattling sound. The club has also just installed spanking new D.A.S audio system speakers, so this is going to be one heart-stopping party for sure.

Super Spooker: The White Rabbit's Halloween Party

If the thought of facing off against supernatural beings doesn’t get your adrenaline going, perhaps confrontations with demented superbeings will. The White Rabbit hosts an assembly of supervillains (and heroes, of course) at its much touted Halloween do, with DJs KFC, Tyler Made and Mr. Has providing the soundtrack. Best dressed heroes will stand a chance to win air tickets, hotel stays, champers, Nixon watches and more!

Zirca: The Grindhouse Halloween

Things will get real nasty at Zirca as it transmogrifies into a grindhouse theatre. The Grindhouse Theatre welcomes you to the most shocking and grotesque gorextravaganza with triple feature screening within Zirca, Rebel and Grooove. Muster your guts for a sordidly twisted experience loaded with hardcore thrills that is beyond your wildest imagination.

Zouk: Rites & Rituals

For one night, Zouk turns into an occultish bazaar, with deadly labyrinths, crazy creatures and torture chambers. Definitely one of the most anticipated parties on the scary calendar, the cultish party will see some vile costumed characters at the club. Dress to impress and you could walk away with a pair of tickets to Frankfurt, Germany (worth $2500). Proudly sponsored by statravel.com.sg, “World’s Largest Travel Agency for Young Adults”.
