The gang is getting back together again.
'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' has begun principal photography, according to an announcement today by Marvel Studios.
Marvel also confirmed the long-rumored casting of Kurt Russell, an actor who may play a key role in the film's plot, which hinges on Peter Quill's (Chris Pratt) search for his true father.
"My favorite movie as a small child was 'The Strongest Man in the World,' so I'm glad to announce that, yes, Kurt Russell has joined our cast and, yes, he is more awesome a dude than I ever could have imagined," director James Gunn wrote on his Facebook page.
The update came with the first production photo, featuring the silhouettes of the film's heroes — Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and tiny Groot.
Russell will also be joined by Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Chris Sullivan for the all-star follow-up to 2014 hit 'Guardians Of The Galaxy'.
Gunn also gave a clue about Canadian actress Klementieff's character, but declined to reveal the rest.
The first movie was a massive hit in 2014, topping $773 million at the global box office.
'Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2' opens in Singapore 4 May 2017.
