The Tat2 Show returns after a successful 2009 debut to promote tattoo as a form of body art appreciation and culture.
Now in its second year, the Singapore Tat2 Show is set to grace our shores with an even more audacious lineup than its first incarnation with an exciting mix of art, rock, entertainment and more.
Held over a span of 3 days from 8 to 10 January at the Singapore Expo, it is billed as the largest tattoo show in Asia with an estimated number of 300 internationally-regarded artists from countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, China and Taiwan making an appearance to showcase their talent and create unique pieces of artwork.
Celebrity guests include Kim Saigh (LA Ink), Tim Hendricks (Gold Rush Tattoo shop), Michelle Myles (Daredevil Tattoo, winner of TLC’s Tattoo War Competition at the 6th Annual Boston Tattoo Convention), Shige (Yellow Blaze Tattoo, Japan) and returning artists Chris Garver (Miami Ink) and Bob Tyrell (Night Gallery).
If you are a fan of the art, don’t miss the guests’ meet-and-greet sessions!
Other highlights of the show include the Miss Tattoo Asia pageant, the first platform in Asia for tattooed women to showcase their body art; a performance by world class contortionist Rubberboy, who holds three Guinness World Records and has been touted “The Most Flexible Man Alive”; and also attending the show will be VIP guest Matt Booth, (Room101), celebrity jewellery designer and special guest judge for this year's show.
There will also be prizes given for the Best Male and Female Tattoo.
Art lovers will be thrilled to know that there will be an art gallery set up, featuring works by renowned tattoo artists as well as finalists of Beauty Is Skin Deep, a body art design competition for young creatives.
Of course, arguably the main draws are the graffiti artists and seasoned tattoo artists who will demonstrate their artistic talents onsite. There will also be trade seminars conducted by prominent industry professionals.
