We’re here to tell you that although Santa is just around the corner you do not have to spend you weekend at shopping malls, Singapore is absolutely buzzing with things to do and we have compiled the best.
Tiger Beer is doing us all a favour by throwing a Christmas party to rival any other. The “Have you been good this year” party promises a night of jolly good fun. They have lined up a string of local acts such as Kevin Lester, DJ KoFlow and Amanda Ling (of Electrico fame). So come down even if you have been slightly naughty this year, we’re pretty sure that they would understand.
What is a weekend without a visit to Singapore’s clubbing headquarters? Once again, Zouk has lined up a stellar act for your clubbing enjoyment. Grammy winning artist, Dubfire will be helming what will most definitely a heck of a set at Jiak Kim Street. So make sure you are well hydrated because it will be a night you will not forget.
If clubbing isn’t your thing, the T’ang Quartet is performing this Saturday at the Esplanade Concert Hall. They promise a night of cheeky fun as they perform age old Christmas favourites such as ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Let It Snow’. This fun loving bunch will entertain you with their antics that can only come with polish musicianship.

Russian-born, Bronx-bred chanteuse, Regina Spektor will be performing this Saturday at the Esplanade. Her latest album ‘What we saw from the cheap seat’ is typical of her body of work so far, emotionally striking while squeezing in some mirth in between her songs. She has always entertain her audiences anywhere she has performed so expect nothing different from her this Saturday.
Trip the light fantastic this weekend at the Night Safari. Although it’s not your typical nightlife haunt, we’re pretty sure that the otherworldly beings from Mystica will make up for that. Through December 25, the Night Safari is transmogrified into a fascinating place of fairies and nocturnal animals. And there are plenty of fairies along the trail to greet you as you make your way through the park. Head on over to the NAFA campus for an art exhibition which features alumni artists from Singapore and Malaysia. They have gone to great lengths to represent their conventional subjects in fresh ways. This weekend will be the last weekend that this exhibition will be held so take this chance to not miss this mind expanding exhibition.
If you rather make art then view art, head on down to Marina Square this Sunday for a log cake decorating contest. Held at the atrium, this contest will bring out the budding pastry chefs in you. Even if you are not the artsy-fartsy types, there are log cakes so that is always a plus!
