Here’s our round-up on the very top events you can’t miss this weekend!
This Saturday is promising to be super hot as Taiwanese songstress Elva Hsiao storms into town on her Elva Hsiao WOW World Tour . Expect the utterly babelicious music chameleon, best known for her high-energy performances and captivating on-stage personas, to dazzle with signature dance tunes such as Shining Love, Spokesperson, L.O.V.E., Tomorrow, and The Theme Song Of Love, as well as cosying it up a notch with ballads like I Love You So Much, Impulsive, Nobody, Kiss and The Most Familiar Stranger and more.
Another tour de force of a completely different nature is also hitting town this weekend - wildly popular technology fair COMEX marks a triumphant return this year boasting bigger and better deals than ever. Sprawling over 5 entire show floors in Suntec Convention Centre, buckle up to partake in Singapore's favorite pastime of haggling over your latest gadgets. (Check out our guide to COMEX here!) The best part is? It's all free! The only challenge is watching your wallet.

If you're in need of some of the great fresh outdoors during the day, gather round your family (and furry friends) and head for the National Dog Walk and Carnival 2010, which promises a full day of physical fitness coupled with fair-like festivities. Lacking a canine friend? Head on down to other sporting events happening this weekend like the MR25 30km Progressive Run and Yellow Ribbon Prison Run.
If you're more culturally-inclined (and if the weather isn't being particularly supportive), perhaps it's time to acquaint yourself better with the magic of Latin-American cinema, with the best selection of film so conveniently accessible at the Singapore Latin American Festival. We're betting on tickets for hot favorites like Like Water for Chocolate, The Caribean and Alamar to go quickly, so don't hesitate too long!
We're rounding up the weekend of must-dos with what we think is a really cool cult event - Kult (pun fully intended), we hear, is throwing the next Nixon Art Mosh right here and for those not in the know, it's a strangely compelling mix of art, music and design all cobbled together to make a pop up show. Expect lots of quirky cool fun, but like most quirky cool events, you'll have to RSVP at http://www.kult.com.sg/site/index.php.
That's it for now – have a blast planning for your weekend. Catch us again on Monday with our next roundup on what you can't miss during the week!
