Will Mariah be able to hold her throne amongst the avalanche of superstars clamoring for our attention at LG Live? Whatever the outcome, you’re in for some glam-drenched entertainment!
Things sure are hotting up in a major way this September as a star-studded lineup of entertainers prepare to descend upon our shores and rock our world. Held over the Formula 1 period of September 24 to 26, LG Live at 2010 Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix (phew, quite a mouthful!)
Joining Ms. Carey in entertaining Formula 1 partygoers are music powerhouses such as rap diva Missy Elliott, US rock gods Daughtry, glam-rocker Adam Lambert as well as Youth Olympic Games no-show Sean Kingston, who when last invited to grace our shores, didn’t even bother to turn up! To all his disappointed fans, well, we hope he’s worth it.
Personally, we wouldn’t miss the Mariah’s and Missy’s performances for the world – hopefully, they’ll even grace us mere mortals some divine intervention by deigning to perform together! A live rendition of Heartbreaker, perhaps? After all, Missy’s come a long way since her days of writing and producing songs for other superstars like Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson and Carey herself, so we’re definitely looking forward to seeing her highly-anticipated act in the flesh.
It’s not Adam Lambert’s first appearance here this year, so forgive us if our reaction is noticeably cooler (however, all Lambert fans are encouraged to do their part for charity!). Instead we’d rather look out for Daughtry’s performances since the guys have a reputation of being livewires at performances, plus – on a different note – Zouk is also bringing out the big guns this year with their contribution to the festival, DJ Tiga. While you may not be so familiar with his original material, this virtuoso at remixes will have you bopping your head immediately with his reworking of mega hits like Scissor Sisters’ Comfortably Numb and Felix da Housecat's Madame Hollywood.
If this is starting to look like a pure music line-up, you couldn’t be more off the mark. In fact, the entire circuit park is going to be transformed into what they call an “urban street party” boasting over 300 performers guaranteed to entertain you senseless in between the races. Everything from Brazilian martial arts to aerial theatrical performances will be on tap, but our picks are the dishy Chippendales, as well as daredevils Freestyle Trial Bikers.

In order to ensure you get the most bang for your buck, many artistes will also be performing more than once in different locations around the park. If you’re one of the lucky few with Zone 1 and 2 ticketholders, you’ll also get free rides on the Singapore Flyer (subject to availability)! Talk about a bird’s eye view of the entire track.
Getting excited yet? We know we are! Stay tuned for more coverage of this dazzling constellation of superstars, because we definitely have something up our sleeves!
In the meantime, do check out the event website at www.singaporegp.sg for the latest performance schedule, as artiste lineup might change. We sure hope so, bring in even more exciting acts, we say!
Tickets for the entertainment events can be bought with your Formula 1 ticket, which allows you access to LG Live.
