Martina Navratilova has been announced as the first entry in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Legends event to be held in Singapore in October.
The event is being held in conjunction with the season-ending BNP Paribas WTA Finals, which Singapore is hosting for the first time in the 44-year history of the WTA Finals. The event is scheduled to be held from 17 to 26 October 2014.
The 57-year-old International Tennis Hall of Fame awardee retired in 2006 after an illustrious career that produced 59 Grand Slam titles - 18 singles, 31 women's doubles, and 10 mixed doubles.
In addition to taking part in the Legends event, the American will also be involved in community youth programmes, sharing her extensive tennis knowledge with coaches from the region, and taking part in fan promotions and corporate partner programmes.
Tickets (from $16.90) go on sale from 2 June. A limited number of Ground Passes which gives access to the Fan Festival, Fan Zone and Player Practice session are available for sale on the week of the event from 20 October.
