Sad to see it go, the sun is setting on our last long weekend of the year (the next one’s in November). As usual the days will whizz past, leaving us wondering where the hours went but before we bid adieu to the second last three-day holiday of the year, we have to throw on our dancing and party shoes for one last hurrah. Well, we did work hard for our money… now it’s time for us to party.

Ganbatte! Do your part in Japan relief effort by partying at Chef Kinki Supports Japan. It’s a full-on Japanese sound-fest with DJs Takuya Kashiwada, Kentaro Tanaguchi and Kiwamu Shibata on deck duties, together with Marvin and special guest host, Paul foster. There’s load of event merchandise on sale with proceeds going to the Singapore Red Cross.
Local sounds abound at Blu Jaz Café as it hosts the Pushin’ On crew. Joining Shellsuit, Chunk, Dave Code, Masterpiece MC and Gonzo on the decks are Brendon P and The Mighty Mighty. Expect loads of funk, soul and disco at this toss up.
For something off the beaten track, hit up Sembawang for the opening party of The Landing Bar & Grill. Look forward to sinking your teeth into some hearty American pub grub with quite a decent beer list on tap as well as wines and spirits.
If you’re looking for something for left-field, Heineken hosts another instalment of its Secret Galleryparties. Held at a ‘secret’ location in Margaret Drive, the Heineken crew will turn down the lights and turn up the night with Secret Gallery, a UV-inspired underground party filled with secrets and the unexpected. Guest DJs Nosaj Thing and Caribou will provide the underground soundtrack.
