Music So Good… It HURTS

In an era of over-the-top, cookie cutter popstars, it makes for a refreshing change to stumble onto a band with music so epic, it belies their austere outlook. Hurts, the Manchester duo Adam Anderson and Theo Hutchcraft who met by chance back in 2005, is one such band.

The duo Hurts will perform in Singapore at the Esplanade, bringing the sound of their first album, Happiness, which became the best sold album coming from a new band in UK. The band recently picked up the prestigious ‘Best New Band’ award at NME awards show.

Call it synth-pop with an 80s sound but none can deny that the pair’s music whose music is described as an ‘electronic opera, with dance beats’-- grand, emotional, haunting, dramatic, dark--strikes a chord.

Their melancholic melodies have garnered them a slew of fans from all over the world including pop queen Kylie Minogue, who once performed their song "Wonderful Life". So don't miss their debut gig here in Singapore!

Catch Hurts at the Esplanade on May 10. Tickets $98, $80 from Sistic.
