The prophecy will be fulfilled. James Franco is taking a break from his PHD studies to be the great man in Sam Raimi’s upcoming 'Oz The Great And Powerful'. Disney recently unveiled a new trailer the movie, a prequel to the classic children's novel by L. Frank Baum. The movie centers around a circus magician with questionable ethics who ends up in Oz, where he is greeted as the long-awaited Great Wizard.
James Franco portrays the magician, named Oscar Diggs, who is hurled to the land of Oz during a trip in a hot air balloon. Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams are also part of the cast of the 3D movie, in which they play two of the four witches.
The new trailer features flying monkeys, the famed Emerald City and eye-popping visuals.
The film is slated to be the first Sam Raimi-directed blockbuster since 'Spider-Man 3', released five years ago. 'Oz The Great And Powerful' will open in theaters on 7 March, 2013.
