Part 1

Children grow up so quickly and before you know it, you'll go from being the apple of their eye to just the holder of the family car keys. Spending some time with your kids can be loads of fun and doesn't necessarily mean paying for an expensive holiday. In fact, we've rounded up 100 exciting, educational and simply cool things to do with your brood before they grow up and want desperately to leave the nest. The good news is that you won't need to venture too far away from home to do these!

1. Visit the Science Centre.

A total-sensory experience for both the young and the young at heart, science is made cool again with interactive displays and larger-than-life exhibitions. Catch a 3-D move at the IMAX theatre to round off your visit and you'll be surprised by how much you didn't know!

Chase away the blues with fresh air and sunshine! Catch a breeze and let a colourful kite take flight at one of the few wide, open spaces on our little island.

6. Make a scrapbook of childhood memories.

Immortalize precious moments on paper and get the kids involved by letting them pick out the fancy bits and bobs. Check out shops like Laine's Papeterie, Spotlight and Made With Love for all your scrapbooking needs.

7. Swim with the dolphins at the Dolphin Lagoon.

Get up close and personal with these highly intelligent creatures. Learn hand cues to communicate with them and get a fun ride you won't forget!
