River Safari hosts first River Games in June 2015

While Singapore is hosting the Southeast Asia (SEA) Games in June, the city's newest wildlife attraction, River Safari, will be hosting its first River Games from 6 to 28 June, where visitors may take part in animal-themed challenges, live game shows, animal encounters and even enjoy discounts on park admission fees.

Coinciding with the June holidays and held during the weekends from 9am to 6pm, River Games will feature brain-teasers and various activity stations with remote-controlled games and carnival-style challenges.

Visitors may also get to take part in twice-daily game shows that test their knowledge on animal facts.

Wildlife Reserves Singapore, which manages the park, said in a media release that there will be a first-ever behind-the-scenes playtime session, where a park guide will introduce to visitors the binturong babies, also known as bearcats, or two of River Safari’s beavers, Justin and Selena.

They may join the guide on a River Trail and observe keepers feeding the animals to get insights into the creatures' diet and natural behaviours.

Singaporeans, permanent residents and employment pass holders get to enjoy half-price admission tickets to the park when buying Singapore Zoo or Night Safari tickets for visits on the same day.
