It’s almost the holiday season and I’m sure plenty of us are already thinking about vacation destinations we want to go and visit… well, when you can’t actually get away, here’s the next best thing – watch a movie about travel!
Granted, it’s only temporary relief, but it could also give you some ideas about where to go next time!
And when the movie comes out, don’t forget to use inSing.com’s discounted ticket promotion to watch them!
Admittedly, this isn’t your typical travel movie - based on the 18th century novel of the same name, this live-action film is all about the little people, literally. Lemuel Gulliver, played by comedian Jack Black, is a travel writer who visits the Bermuda Triangle and finds himself a giant amongst the people of Lilliput, a population of industrious, yet tiny, people. Keep an out for Emily Blunt, Amanda Peet, and Jason Segel (from How I Met Your Mother).

Directed by Danny Boyle (who also helmed the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire), this is the movie you’ll want to watch if you’re into extreme sports in exotic locations. Based on the real-life story of mountain climber Aron Ralston (played by James Franco), who got stuck in an isolated canyon after a boulder falls and traps his arm. If anything, you could pick up a couple of survival skills, ala Bear Grylls, in this movie.
