Indie legends Suede, who released their latest album ‘Bloodsports’ garnered significant critical acclaim, will return to Singapore for a one-night only gig on 27 September at Hard Rock Hotel’s The Coliseum in Resorts World Sentosa.
Indie gods, Mercury Prize-winners and a progenitor of Brit Pop, Suede were hailed as "The Best New Band in Britain" in 1992.
‘It Starts And Ends With You’ - Suede
Suede soon attracted the attention of the British music press. The band is made up of lead vocalist Brett Anderson, Neil Codling (keyboards), Simon Gilbert (drums), Richard Oakes (guitarist) and last but not least bassist Mat Osman. The band last played a concert here in 2011.
Their latest album, ‘Bloodsports’ comprises songs like ‘Snowblind’, ‘It Starts And Ends With You’ and ‘For The Strangers’ which recaptures their past glories. According to NME, the album is full of their “trademark trashy glamour and daft pop’ while Pitchfork wrote that the album “represents a refreshing evolution in spirit”.
Known for sing-along tunes like ‘Apologize’ and ‘Stop and Stare’, pop-rockers One Republic will be making their way to Singapore for a gig on 29 October 2013, also at The Coliseum.
The Colorado Springs-based rockers recently released their third album, ‘Native’, this past March. Topping charts, all around the world, AllMusic wrote that it touches “upon the soaring, piano-driven alt-rock of Coldplay, the funky, synthetic, blue-eyed-soul of Maroon 5, and the slick yet earnest R&B balladry of any number of modern divas”.
