Shailene Woodley on equality in 'Allegiant'

Once again, actress Shailene Woodley is back as the heroine Tris, supported by her boyfriend Four (Theo James) as they try and fight against the system which isolates young people who are 'divergent'.

In the third of the franchise, Tris along with her friends break out of the compound of Chicago they've lived in all their lives and cross over the wall so she can save her brother Caleb from the death penalty. However, the outside world isn't what the group expected.

While the film has not been celebrated by critics, the series has been lauded for its equality and diversity.

Speaking in an interview to promote the film, Woodley explained "The nice thing about this movie is there's a lot of strong females and there's a lot of strong males. It's not males are leading and the females are being suppressed or the females are leading and the males are being suppressed. There's equality between the kingdom and the queendom and I think that's all that needs to happen in our modern world and I think that's beautiful. I love that Tris and Four are there for one another, they support one another and they have a certain respect for each other as well."
