TGIF!: Your weekend guide (16 -18 May 2014)

Arts & culture

At the Endeavours Documentary Film Festival happening at The Arts House, catch a plethora of documentaries from around the world, including ‘Class of 92’ which chronicles the stories of six players from the Treble-winning Manchester United team - namely David Beckham, the Neville brothers and Ryan Giggs. Filmmaker Gabe Turner also spoke to inSing.com, where he reaveled that even off camera, the lads were all "good mates".

Other than the football odyssey of sorts, there are also thrilling films like ‘12 O’Clock Boys’ and ‘The Life & Crimes of Doris Payne’

Based on the BBC show from the 80s and 90s, it’s the last few days to catch ‘Yes, Prime Minister’ at the Jubilee Hall at the Raffles Hotel until 18 May.

Updated for modern day politicking and scandals, the stage version revolves around a fictional oil-rich country called “Kumranistan”, and a foreign minister who wants a wild party in exchange for an oil contract.

The Singapore Art Museum offers up unusual creations by international artists in its latest exhibition, ‘Medium at Large: Shapeshifting Material and Methods in Contemporary Art’. Here’s a preview guide of the “wayward art” on show.

Music & nightlife

All the glitz and glamour of Audi Fashion Festival will be swathed in one final blow out at the official AFF After Party - Fashion Spotlight with Bag Raiders.

The Australian duo take over the Great Room at the W hotel for one night only.

While the X-Men cast took over Orchard Road, and English Premier League footballers descended upon the city, escape from the celebrity-filled madness of the past week with Swedish chillwave proponents Postiljonen, who play tonight at Pink Noize in Bugis.

Disclosure's DJ set at Zouk is the hottest ticket this weekend

In one of the most anticipated gigs this month, powerhouse UK electronic duo Disclosure will surely fill out the main room at Zouk this Saturday.

The brothers, Guy and Howard Lawrence are behind massive hits such as ‘White Noise’ and ‘Latch’. Pre-sale tickets are sold out, so make sure to get your tickets early when doors open at 9pm.

Aussie heartthrob Pete Murray will play in Singapore for the first time at the Wavehouse at Sentosa, with Singapore’s very own The Sam Willows opening.
