Catch song-and-dance spectacular Singin' in the Rain this weekend. Based on the 1952 MGM movie starring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds, ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ is set in 1927, just when talking movies started to displace silent pictures and follows silent movie star Don Lockwood and aspiring actress Kathy Selden through the transition. 

'Rising Hope' - Lisa

If you’re a fan of anime, don’t miss Japanese singer Lisa’s gig at Resorts World Theatre this Saturday. She broke onto the anime scene when she sung the vocals for the character Yui in the fictional band Girls Dead Monster in the anime AngelBeats.’ Her first single, ‘Oath Sign’ was used as the opening theme to the anime ‘Fate/Zero,’ and her second single, ‘Crossing Field’ was used as the opening theme to the anime ‘Sword Art Online’.

Laugh out loud this weekend with some of the funniest folks on both ends of the Indian subcontinent at the no-holds barrred Laugh OK Please - Best of Indian Stand-up Comedy. Expect jokes from the likes of Sorabh Pant from Mumbai, Rajneesh Kappor and Jeeveshu Ahluvalia from Dehli, Karthik Kumar, S Aravind and Aswin Rao from Chennai and Bangalore.

Canadian shoegaze indie rock trio Braidscomes to Kilo Lounge this Saturday in support of their sophomore album, ‘Another Eternity’.

Korean popstars Bigbang returns this weekend for the singapore leg of their [Made] world tour.

Some of the biggest teams of the English Premier League are in Singapore for the Barclays Asia Trophy. Catch Arsenal, Everton and Stoke battling it out with Singapore's Lions. The clubs have even brought their first-team squads with names like Chilean Alexis Sanchez, Germany's Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker and Belgium's Romelu Lukaku.

Singapore Food Festival

Themed ‘A Fresh Taste of Tradition’, this year’s Singapore Food Festival highlights the best of Singapore’s hawkers and chefs. They will be serving up unique takes of Singapore’s street food in addition to Chinatown Food Street's Mod-Local Fest, which focuses on fusion dishes. 

The sixth edition of Art Apart Fair (17-18 Jul | Parkroyal on Pickering, 3 Upper Pickering St.) features urban art by emerging Asian artists including Filipino painter Ramon Orlina, glass sculptor Kunihiko Nohara and contemporary Chinese artist Zou Cao.

Offbeat streetart and music event Off The Rails returns this Saturday! Artists from Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia collaborate in a street art jam under under the bridge of a viaduct near 31 North Buona Vista Road (Blk 43, Commonwealth Ave). Wobology, Lion Steppaz Sound, and Kiat provide the soundtrack.

National Day may be three weeks away, but why wait to start the festivities then. Catalunya is marking SG50 with its own celebratory set by giving our very own chilli crab a Spanish twist. There’s even a special Jubille cocktail made with run, pandan, coconut and garnised with ondeh ondeh on the side. This promo starts 15 Jul through 9 Aug and goes for $50++.
