TGIF!: Your weekend guide (19-21 Dec 2014)

The festive season is in full swing and this is the final weekend before we say hello to Christmas Day.

Celebrate with homegrown jazz icon Jeremy Monteiro in his 10th edition Christmas concert, with material from his new album, “Christmas in Our Hearts”. Or join multi Grammy-award winner DJ Jazzy Jeff from US at Ku De Ta as he takes funk and groove to new heights.

For those wth children, don't miss 'Port of Lost Wonder Christmas Joy' at Sentosa. Participants get to make gingerbread cookies and to ride on a carousel, and there will also be Christmas carolling.

On Saturday, the trio of Huckleberry Friends – Jon, Xue Yi, and Marcus – share messages of friendship and home through their music at the Esplanade Concourse. And on Sunday also at the Esplanade, let all-round entertainer Charles Stitch Wong thrill you with his unusual guitar, vocal and beatbox routine.

Steven and Misa Mead

The Singapore Wind Symphony presents ‘Christmas with the Meads’. Steven and Misa Mead share their love, laughter and virtuosity on the euphonium (a brass instrument), guaranteed to put you in the best of holiday spirits.

Art lovers will not want to miss the 'Earlier Mona Lisa' exhibition at The Arts House. It shows an earlier painting of Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci before he painted the famous one in Paris' Louvre.

Catch the mischievously funny Dim Sum Dollies in their brand new show, The History of Singapore Part 2’. Let the showgirls tickle your funny bone with their delicious satire and wickedly candid take on Singapore’s yesteryears.

Want to create your own signature scent this Christmas? You may try your hands at being a perfumer at Safra Toa Payoh at a workshop. Each participant will have access to more than 200 top quality oils and aromas.

DJ Markus Schulz is in town at Zouk with Lincey. While you’re at it, also catch DJ Ferry Corsten, one of the top Dutch jocks in the world at the club.

The newly minted Mixmag's "world class club" Kyo (133 Cecil Street, #B1-02, Keck Seng Tower) will be giving free entry to its Christmas Balls on 20 Dec and 24 Dec.
