It’s that time of the year again when our favourite theme park transmogrifies into something scary. Universal Studio Singapore’s Halloween Horror Nights returns for the fifth time with an evil Blood Moon theme that spans across four haunted houses and three scare zones.
Pop artist and designer extraordinaire Steve Lawler (no relation to the DJ) aka Mojoko is presenting his first solo show after a very long hiatus. Expect to see a works that blend B-movie trash culture and Asian heritage in this multi-media exhibition. ‘House of Mojoko’ (through 4 Oct | 21 Everitt Road North | Free) will also feature works by Eric Foenander, Shang Liang and Lawler’s son “Babyman”.
The Land of The Rising Sun takes over Kyo this Saturday as DJs Shufflemaster and Rok Da House are set to drop some heavy techno on punters. Singapore club legend Tony Tay and Kyo resident Zig Zach supports.
Head down to Tanjong Beach Club for some 80s funk, electro boogie tunes with Argentinian acts DJ Adrian Giordano and Silver City (3 Oct | From 3pm).
Over at the Singapore Art Museum this Saturday, DJ Has brings together some of Singapore’s best selector and DJs for an evening of luscious music at The Courtyard (3 Oct | 6pm-2am | 71 Bras Basah Road). Expect acts such as Aldrin, Brendon P, Cats on Crack, Dodgy Yamamoto, Haan, KFC and Maurice Simon.
'Ignite' - Eir Aoi
The Queen of Japanese Anime songs, Eir Aoi holds court at the Resorts World Sentosa’s Theatre this weekend. if you’re a regular watcher of anime, chances are that you’ve already heard at least one of her catchy pop-rock tunes. Her debut single ‘Memoria’ was used as the first ending theme to 2011 anime series ‘Fate/Zero’, while her second and third singles, ‘Aurora’ and ‘Innocence’, were used as opening themes for ‘Mobile Suit Gundam AGE’ and ‘Sword Art Online’.
