The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies(2014)

This week, thousands of hobbits will leave their holes to catch the third and final instalment of Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit' trilogy.
'The Hobbit' is set 60 years before the events of 'Lord of the Rings' and it narrates the account of Bilbo Baggins' adventures.
'The Battle of Five Armies', the final chapter of the 'The Hobbit' saga finds Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) caught between competing factions. With dwarves on one side, elves and humans on another, and an army of goblins and orcs looming large on the horizon, there’s precious little a hobbit can do to turn the tide — or so everyone thinks. While the J.R.R. Tolkien novel the trilogy is based on devoted a relatively short amount of story to this final, climactic battle, Jackson has given it an entire movie.
In 2012, inSing.com flew down to Wellington and into the heart of Middle-earth itself, Peter Jackson's Stone Street Studios for an exclusive look behind the curtain.
We spoke to people like Sir Ian McKellen, Luke Evans, Martin Freeman, Aidan Turner, James Nesbitt, Fran Walsh, Phillipa Boyens, WETA's Sir Richard Taylor and more.
And you can read about all of them and more in this handy 'Hobbit' special.
'The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies' opens 18 December
