Fun things to do with your kids for under $10

$10 is all you need to spend an hour or two out of the house and enjoy some great fun with the kids. We show you how far one red note can take you!

Go up Tiger Sky Tower
Imbiah Lookout, Sentosa
Let your kid stand at the top of the world and look down on creation! Enjoy panoramic views across Singapore, Sentosa and the Southern Islands from Asia's tallest free-standing observation tower. Seven minutes is all you need to let your kids enjoy the breathtaking view as the tower gently revolves to a height of 131 metres above sea level. Admission for kids under 12 is $10, and $15 for adults. Day or night, the view is sensational. Best for kids aged 3 and up.

Have breakfast at a wet market
Your Neighbourhood Wet Market
The wet market food stalls are slowly becoming a vanishing icon, with Singaporeans preferring to eat at air-conditioned food courts and food centres these days. Show your kids some of your best-loved childhood breakfast dishes, made more authentic with the some bad ventilation and cheaper prices. For $10, feast like a king with drinks like Milo Dinosaur for the kids, carrot cake, fried bee hoon and dough sticks- if you can find a stall selling it made and fried from scratch. Best for kids of all ages.

Go on a Singapore River cruise
Singapore River Cruises & Leisure
The boat is no longer a main mode of transportation in modern Singapore, but you can still let your kids experience an electrical bumboat ride. Complete with onboard commentary, this cruise highlights Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, Robertson Quay and Marina Bay. It may seem touristy to ride on the bumboat, but there are many vibrant sights and sounds along the river banks that your kids are sure to enjoy. Besides, the combination of snippets from the past and our modern skyscrapers make for a good history lesson. Tickets cost $10 per child and $17 per adult. Best of kids of any age.

Check out book at second-hand book-stores
Bras Basah Complex on Bain Street
Does your child have a voracious reading appetite? Have dreams of creating a huge library at Home for him without the hefty price tags of brand-new books? Spend the afternoon unearthing great literary buys and start trawling the little shops in Bras Basah Complex for good finds. Second-hand books, some hard-to-find or discontinued titles, are available cheaply right here. You'll stretch your $10 for sure. Best for kids of all ages.

A good opportunity to get up close to a professional team right here in Singapore at an affordable rate. Tickets cost $8 per child for general gallery and balcony seats.
