Ramayana Revisited: A Tale of Love & Adventure

The exhibition is about the universal and timeless popularity of the Ramayana epic and its narration in visual, performing and literary arts of South and Southeast Asia. The story is told through shadow puppets, paintings on paper and cloth, and photographs of ancient monuments representing the epic from South and Southeast Asia.

Until August 22, at the Peranakan Museum.

Schumann Symphony Spectacular: Buried Treasure

Led by Gerard Schwarz and lead violinist Yossif Ivanov, the SSO performs some of Shostakovich Schumann’s most beloved classics – the Violin Concerto No. 1 in A minor, Op. 77 (39’); and the Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 97 ‘Rhenish’ (32’). Today only, at the Esplanade Concert Hall. Tickets from $11 to $75.

Design Literacy Forum 

An inaugural event to kick of the week-long Design Society Conference, led by esteemed local designers and educators such as Theseus Chan, Lim Sau Hoong, Kelley Cheng and :phunk  studio to discuss the topic of Design Literacy and its importance for shaping the growth of Design in Singapore.

Today only at the National Library. Tickets at $25 for members and $50 for general public.

 

Australia Day Celebrations
